M33M Basketball announces upcoming tryout dates

Memphis, Tenn. – M33M Basketball announced today they are joining forces with adidas to become a member of the Adidas Grassroots Programs, in which teams will participate in the Adidas Gauntlet series.

The Adidas Gauntlet series invites teams from across the country to compete for the title of Adidas Uprising Gauntlet Champion in front of college coaches.

M33M Basketball’s spring schedule includes tournaments on April 2-4 in Little Rock, AR, on April 15-17 in Dallas, TX, which is Adidas Uprising Gauntlet Series 1 and on April 22-24 in Atlanta, GA, which is Adidas Uprising Gauntlet Series 2. If M33M Basketball qualifies during the April series, they will receive an invitation (limited to only 32 teams) to the Adidas Uprising Gauntlet Finale hosted on July 6-9 in Spartanburg, SC.

Furthermore, while showcasing their talent during the Gauntlet series, M33M players will have the opportunity to be selected to the Adidas Nations event. At Adidas Nations, the world’s top 18-and-under players are selected to seven regional teams – Africa, Asia, Canada, Europe, Latin American and the United States – to participate in a basketball curriculum featuring NBA coaches and players in addition to current collegiate players acting as camp counselors.

Adidas and M33M Basketball will have an online team store opening February 24th where players, parents, and fans will be able to purchase M33M Basketball merchandise. Items include t-shirts, shoes, uniforms, backpacks, basketballs and travel bags among other merchandise.

M33M Basketball was founded in 2005 by NBA star Mike Miller and Mike’s cousin, Ernie Kuyper. The program began with the intent to provide young men an opportunity to develop and showcase their skills on the basketball court as well as develop their character and standing in the community. Miller, who played for the Memphis Grizzlies during the 2002-03 season, from 2004-2008 and during the 2013-14 season, is still involved in the program today, encouraging young players to strive to be their best on and off the court.

Currently, Kuyper is the president of M33M Basketball and oversees a coaching staff including 15u Elite team Head Coach Scott Adubato, 16u Elite team Head Coach Steve Chandler and 17u Elite team Head Coach Cedric Henderson.

M33M Basketball’s mission is to assist young student athletes in developing strong work ethic through discipline, responsibility and accountability, while understanding the importance of working hard to be the best they can be on the court, in the classroom and in the community.
